The Client

Dreamr Productions was approached By Skipstone, a tech startup, to come up with a mnemonic (short musical phrase) for the startup sound for their piece of hardware.

The Problem

Skipstone’s basic problem was brand recognition. They were new and unestablished. Skipstone reached out to Dreamr to write a piece of music that inspired brand name recognition, a feeling of trustworthiness to the hardware, and incorporating a calming presence.

The Solution

Playing into the name of the company, Dreamr developed a sound that was reminiscent of the skipping of a stone on a lake. The sound was calming, light, and pleasant. It was non obtrusive but catchy enough that it would be remembered.

The Results

Skipstone chose one of three options presented on the spot. The sound was then incorporated into all of their devices. 

With this new mnemonic, Skipstone has a pleasant and relatable tone that, over time, will act as a Pavlovian Bell; a sound that no one could doubt came from them.
